Agopian has developed his own distinctive style in works which treat subjects such as man and the universe, liberty and natural rights. A favourite theme is the urban environment with its pollution which has made it almost uninhabitable. He employs a series of symbolic objects to carry the spectator into his paintings which combine both figurative and abstract elements. Agopian’s paintings interrogate spectators who are invited to meditate and reflect while regarding them.
